STROM is a global architecture and urban design studio. We craft commercial environments that define skylines, shape communities, and endure across generations.
Architecture is not a profession.
It is a commitment — to the
people who inhabit what we
leave behind.
We reject the disposable. The formulaic. The fast. Every project STROM undertakes is treated as a permanent contribution to the urban fabric of its city — designed to perform on day one and deepen in meaning across decades.
Our work spans corporate headquarters, mixed-use districts, civic institutions, and master-planned urban environments. The brief changes. The conviction does not.
"The test of a good city is whether you feel larger standing
inside it than you did before you arrived."
STROM — Design Principles, 2024
From headquarters that command respect to retail destinations that generate loyalty — we design commercial buildings that perform for their occupants and elevate their streets. Every façade is a public statement. Every interior, a productive ecosystem built for how people actually work.
Cities are living organisms. We approach urban design as urban ecology — studying movement, density, light, and culture to create districts that genuinely thrive. Our masterplans are constitutions for places that do not yet exist but absolutely should.
The most sustainable building is the one that already exists. We transform industrial relics, forgotten civic structures, and underutilised commercial stock into layered, culturally rich environments that honour their past while funding their future.
Architecture happens between people before it happens on paper. Our process is designed to surface what matters most — to you, to the city, and to the people who will one day move through what we build together. There are no shortcuts here. Only better questions.
We immerse ourselves in the site, the city, the client's ambition, and the cultural moment. Only when we understand a place completely can we dare to change it.
We develop a singular architectural concept — a core idea that gives the project its identity, guides every subsequent decision, and communicates clearly to everyone involved.
Concept becomes building. Structure, materiality, light, and movement are rigorously tested against real-world performance — technical, commercial, and experiential.
We remain present through construction and beyond. Architecture is not complete when the contractor leaves — it is complete when the people who use it make it their own.
STROM was founded in 2011 by architects Erik Strom and Ananya Reeves — two voices shaped by different continents but unified by a belief that the cities of tomorrow demand a more deliberate kind of courage from the people who design them today.
We are a studio of 34 architects, urbanists, engineers, and cultural researchers, operating from Oslo, Amsterdam, and Singapore. We take on fewer than six major projects per year — deliberately — because depth of attention is our primary offering.
We work with developers, municipalities, corporations, and institutions who believe that where we build — and how we build it — is among the most consequential decisions a generation can make.
